GROWCOL LIMITED WARRANTY POLICY

1. Limited Warranty

1.1 Limited Product Warranty:

The GROWCOL Limited Factory Warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials of the battery products (herein referred to as the ‘Products’, which is product model BLF51-5, for 120 months (10 years) starts from the date of installation, but no more than 125 months from the production date.

1.2 Note:

This policy covers GROWCOL batteries products as specific herein, where inverters and ancillary parts please refer to relevant warranty policy document.
1) The ’Installer’ mentioned later in this policy means GROWCOL certified/qualified installer.
2) ‘Installer’ shall use and maintain the ‘Products’ as specified in the attached battery technical specifications
and Standard conditions of use.
3) The End-User and Installer shall comply with the manuals and precautions provided by GROWCOL when
using the ‘Products’. In addition, the products shall be used only for purpose designated by GROWCOL.

1.3 Warranty Registration

It is recommended that all Products are registered in order that they qualify under the terms of this Policy. Registration is a strict requirement for those seeking coverage under the GROWCOL Warranty. Warranties should be registered within 36 months of installation; however, it is recommended that they are registered no more than 6 weeks following the successful installation and commissioning of the Product where possible. The information required at the point of registration via the GROWCOL website is as follows:

1.4 Product Claim Eligibility

The only person(s) eligible to claim warranty under this policy are the qualified Installer and GROWCOL authorized personnel. If the Installer has gone into administration or insolvency or if the site is in a remote area, the End-R3.0 User/Installer at their discretion and expense may appoint a local Installer to carry out the functions of the original Installer.

1.5 Limited Performance Warranty:

1) GROWCOL warrants and represents that the Product will (i) retain sixty per cent (60%) of its usable energy for ten (10) years after the date of installation to the reseller/installer; or (ii) reach the minimum throughput energy, whichever comes first on the condition that the Product is operated in a normal manner that adheres to the manual guidelines provided by GROWCOL.
2) The minimum throughput energy means the total output energy of the Product recorded in the control module of the Product★.
3) The usable energy and minimum throughput energy for each Product Model are set out in the table
below:

  • For this Limited Warranty, the remaining usable energy is as measured and calculated using the following testing
    method and values:
  • Ambient temperature: 25~28℃.
  •  Initial battery temperature from BMS: 25~28℃.
  • Discharge the battery with constant current until the battery reaches End of Discharge Voltage (“EODV”)
    or its self-protective voltage.
  • Wait for 10 minutes.
  •  Charge the battery with constant current and constant charge voltage to its full capacity.
  • Wait for 10 minutes.
  • Discharge the battery with constant current until it reaches EODV or its self-protective voltage. Record the
    current, voltage, and time.
  • The remaining Usable Energy is the integral of discharge time and current multiplied by voltage.

1.6 Warranty claim process
It is installer’s duty to contact GROWCOL in the event of a warranty claim with following information:
1.6.1 Contact information of the user, including name of the person, name of the company, phone number, email address and shipment address.
1.6.2 Information regarding all defective product(s), including purchasing invoice, product(s) model(s), serial number(s), installation date and failure date, valid warranty certificate.
1.6.3 Installation information, including brand, model, and number of PV panels; model of batteries, batteries numbers are also needed.
1.6.4 Error message on LED/LCD screen (if applicable) and additional information regarding the fault/error.
1.6.5 Description of actions before the failure and detailed information of previous claims (if applicable). GROWCOL may ask for further details depending on the fault conditions. GROWCOL will reproduce the issue according to the scenarios provided by the installer, and may arrange an on-site inspection to find out the root of the fault if necessary. GROWCOL reserves the right not to enter the site if adequate information are not provided. GROWCOL is authorized to invoice its inspection costs if : a) the inspection of the Product by GROWCOL shows that the Limited Warranty does not apply, for whatever reason; or b) no defects were found during the inspection of the Product, and it works without error.

If authorized GROWCOL service personnel verify that the claim is valid and the product is faulty owing to the defects from material and workmanship, (under the condition that the performance data of the Products is grant for access for GROWCOL, under its discretion will:

1) Repair or upgrade on the product onsite or at a designated GROWCOL service center.
2) Exchange the product for a product that is brand new or refurbished but at least functionally equivalent to the original product, or an upgraded model which is either functionally equivalent or functionally superior to the original product. If the device is replaced within the warranty period, the remaining warranty period will be automatically transferred to the replacement unit.

GROWCOL is obliged to approve and dispatch a replacement product (if necessary) within 3 working days subject to availability of the product and the product is registered and the info mentioned in clause 1.3 is offered to GROWCOL in written way officially, and the installer grant GROWCOL access to the performance data of the Product over the internet upon request after reporting the warranty claim or manipulate such data depends on GROWCOL`s request. The installer is obligated to arrange the shipping of the faulty product back to GROWCOL local office when it is required by GROWCOL, within 4 weeks after the replacement otherwise , GROWCOL reserves the right to invoice the replacement product or component at full market price. All parts of the product or other equipment that GROWCOL replace shall become GROWCOL’s property.

If it’s proven that the problem was caused by faulty installation, GROWCOL shall not be responsible for such faulty installation, but GROWCOL reserves the right to contact the original installer and request that they provide a solution to fix the issue before GROWCOL’s intervention and may charge the subsequent cost to the original installer if they fail to provide a proper solution to fix this issue.

2. Warranty Coverage and Not Coverage:
Neither reseller of the Product nor any other person is authorized to make any warranties or to extend the duration of the warranties on behalf of GROWCOL other than those contained in this document beyond the periods specified above. Unless a special/unique agreement exists between GROWCOL and the customer, the GROWCOL standard warranty covers only the cost of hardware material required to get the device functioning again.

All other costs including but not limited to compensation from direct or indirect damages arising from the defective device o r other facilities of the PV system, or loss of electrical power generated during the Product downtime are NOT covered by the GROWCOL limited warranty.

3. Warranty Limitations and Exclusions:
The following circumstances may cause device defects, but are NOT covered by GROWCOL’s limited
warranty and GROWCOL shall not be responsible for any such defects.

  • Normal wear and tear (including, without limitation, wear and tear of batteries).
  • Exposure of the Product to movement or shaking following installation, or temperatures greater than the
    specified temperature in the specification and manual.
  • Any defects that occur when the Product warranty period has expired (excluding additional agreements warranty extension).
  • Faults or damages due to faulty installations or operations, maintenance carried out against GROWCOL instructions by an unauthorized installer, e.g. insufficient isolation caused by broken DC cable
  • Improper transportation, storage, installation, or wiring
  • Disassembly, repair, or modifications performed by a third-party company/person not authorized by GROWCOL. Product modifications, design changes or part replacements not approved by GROWCOL
  • Faults or damage due to unforeseen circumstances, man-made factors, or examples of force majeure including but not limited to stormy weather, flooding, overvoltage, pests, inappropriate handling, misuse, neglect, fire, water, lightning, or other acts of nature.
  • Vandalism, engraving, labels, irreversible marking or contamination or theft.
  • Usage which does not comply with the safety regulations (VDE, IEC, etc.).
  • Faults or damage caused by other factors not related to Product quality issues.
  • Any rust that appears on the device’s enclosure caused by harsh environmental conditions. Faults or damage caused by exposure to seacoasts/saltwater or other aggressive atmospheres or environmental conditions without GROWCOL’s written confirmation/approval prior to the installation.
  • Accidents and external influences including unusual physical or electrical stress (power failure surges,
  • inrush current, lightning, flood, fire, accidental breakage, etc…
  • Products that the original identification markings (including trademark or serial number) of such products
    have been defaced, altered, or removed.
  • Operation of the Product with an inverter rectifier or PCS that have not been confirmed and approved by
    GROWCOL. If this happens, GROWCOL shall assume no liability for system malfunctions and any incurred
    loss or damages whatsoever.
  • The Product not being operated for any period of 6 months or more.

4. Geographical Scope

The GROWCOL Limited warranty terms and conditions only apply for the devices which are originally purchased from channels authorized by GROWCOL and installed in the destination defined within the international market, unless there are specially stipulated warranty terms and conditions between GROWCOL and the direct purchaser. For any units sold for one country/region but installed in another country/region, the warranty will become invalid if GROWCOL does not provide written confirmation/approval prior to the installation.

5. Limitation of Liability

GROWCOL shall not assume any liability for any loss of, damage to or corruption of data, for any loss of profit, loss of use of products or functionality, loss of business, loss of contracts, loss of revenue or loss of anticipated savings, increased costs or expenses or for any indirect loss or damage, consequential loss or damage or special loss or damage, or punitive loss or damage. And GROWCOL’s liability shall be limited to the purchase value of the Product.

6. Further Rights at Law

In addition to the warranty provided by GROWCOL, the end-user/installer have statutory rights that will not be limited or replaced by this warranty. The products provided by GROWCOL comes with guarantees that cannot be excluded under consumer laws in the country/territory where the product is installed. Beijing International Arbitration Center shall have jurisdiction for further disputes about a warranty claim arising from the Limited Warranty. In case of a judicial assertion, GROWCOL, is responsible for sending or receiving lawsuit documents.
